Expendables 3 Director Patrick Hughes Sought For Raid Remake

An interesting development here is a story emerging that Expendables 3 director Patrick Hughes is being sought to direct The Raid remake.  Some early sources are saying this is a done deal but Variety.com is noting that it’s still something that is being negotiated.

Something interesting is that Stallone said he was going to attempt to ‘out-Raid the Raid’ in The Expendables 3.  And indeed in our screenplay review for The Expendables 3, we noted that (for better or worse) the finale will be compared to The Raid.  Has Patrick Hughes done a good job imitating it after all?  Have certain bigwigs seen early footage?

Brad Ingelsby penned the script and XYZ films is producing.  In case you haven’t already seen it, you should check out Patrick Hughes’ dark revenge thriller Red Hill.  So the guy is a good director either way, but he has balls to try and re-jig this franchise…
