Gene Hackman: You Won’t See Me Act Again

Being that he’s one of the Manliest actors of all time, when Gene Hackman gives an interview especially in 2014, it’s a good time to take notice.  Yahoo.com scored a great opportunity to interview the man and while they mostly talked about his current career as a writer, they did ask him if he’d return to the screen.

The final inevitable question: Can we hold on any hope of seeing you on the screen again?
Only in reruns.

Yeah, that’s it. I’m at a place where I feel very good about not having to work all night.

Well, pity.  But at the same time I respect the guy for bowing out gracefully.  I don’t think I’d like to see Hackman’s career go the way of Robert De Niro’s.  There just wouldn’t be something right about that.
