A lot of people have been wondering what’s happening with Steven Seagal and that rumored Expendables appearance. Some rumors, which were bogus, suggested it was a done deal for the next movie. Well Seagal himself has recently spoken on the issue with TheBigIssue
On why he has not appeared in those movies, he reveals: “I just didn’t like some of the people involved. Life is too short to work with funny people.” Seagal wouldn’t name names, saying: ” There’s good and bad people everywhere and a lot of people in The Expendables I like too. So it’s okay.” But you can take it to the bank that the name is Avi Lerner, who Seagal has beef with.
Then there’s Under Siege 3. Is it happening? Master Seagal says yes.
“I would set in Russia. I think that America and Russia should be great allies and great friends. And can be. What I want to do is write a movie, which I’ve sorta already done, where Russian special forces and American special forces work together to combat terrorism. The only way for us to prosper as a human race is for us to get along. There are hundreds of millions of people that want that.
I don’t want to make it too big. I don’t want it to look like Die Hard 47 or something like that. I’d like to make it a bit more realistic if I can.”
I’m pretty sure Under Siege and Casey Ryback is Warner Bros property and Seagal burned that bridge in a raging fire in the early ’00s. So I wouldn’t expect to see the movie anytime soon and, given his age, that means probably never. Although Seagal mentions that it’s up next after his tour, Seagal has a questionable history being honest.
