Another Box Office Bomb Predicted For The Expendables 3

Recently The ADI (Adobe Digital Index) gave its verdict on The Expendables 3.  It (the ADI) is a formula developed by Adobe to predict the performance of a particular movie by monitoring the health of its hype via social media buzz, trailer hits etc.  And it has made a prediction, based off of these factors and data, that The Expendables 3 is going to bomb this summer.  Adobe claims a 100% accuracy rate, correctly predicting the results of Enders Game, 47 Ronin and Delivery Man.

Now, BoxOffice.com has chimed in and given their own prediction, another bomb.  They predict a $25,000,000 opening weekend and a cumulative gross (domestic) of $72,000,000.

Should that be the case, the movie would barely cover its own budget, if at all with its American release. This could well be the case, although I’d say it would be closer to $90,000,000.  The trend for these types of movies is downwards, especially considering the performance of The Last Stand, Bullet to the Head and honestly, even Escape Plan.

But we shall see…
