We’re very close to Beverly Hills Cop IV going to cameras. Should be before the end of the year. And after The Expendables 3 being PG-13, some had worries that this, basically the last (or one of the last) ’80s action movies, might get the same deal. Fear not, Brett Ratner has finally confirmed that Beverly Hills Cop IV will be R-rated.
In fact, no-one even pressed him to speak on the rating. By his own initiative, it was the first thing he felt compelled to say about the movie. This is good news, and dare I say it Ratner is probably aware of the PG-13 furore over The Expendables 3, which is more or less in the same genre. So far so good then, Ratner is giving fans what they want. Even better, Jerry Bruckheimer is producing. Bruckheimer left Disney because he declared his was done being forced to do PG movies.
