Here is the first look at Mad Max: Fury Road, footage from this year’s Comic-Con. This is the first time the movie has been shown publicly since it went before cameras in 2012, and the first time new Mad Max footage has been seen in 29 years. It does seem more bombastic than any Mad Max movie yet, but ever since day one the stunts, vehicles and crashes etc have all supposedly been practical, with minimal CGI used.

The wrecking of the Interceptor at the outset also seems to suggest that this is a reboot as opposed to a sequel or ‘interquel’ between Mad Max 1 and 2. At any rate, George Miller claimed that Warner Bros. allowed him to do his own thing, and with his talent and that budget, that means that this could be something severely special.
