Release Date Set For Zombie Thriller “The Dead 2”

Two years ago, a respectable zombie apocalypse thriller was released, and many probably missed it.  The Dead was a low budget but mostly effective yarn about a soldier who found himself caught up in an outbreak in north Africa.  It wasn’t a classic movie, but for most zombie fans it just about worked due to knowing its limitations – no shitty melodrama, lots of practical suvival.

Now a release date, some new stills and some official artwork have come down the pipe for its sequel.  The Dead 2, directed by Howard and Jon Ford, will hit DVD and Blu Ray on September 16th.  It has been on tour with some small screenings and is apparently testing well.
