A new “Rush Hour” TV series is in development courtesy of “Beverly Hills Cop IV” director Brett Ratner. He and TV vet Bill Lawrence (Scrubs, Cougar Town) have closed a deal with Warner Bros. TV to co-write and executive produce an hourlong action comedy adaptation of the Rush Hour franchise.
Ratner directed all three movies which starred Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker.
He also has TV veteran as he produced “Prison Break” and the short-lived “Chaos”. I’m assuming that they intend to retain the Asian/Black co-lead setup. No word yet on who is to be cast, the series has not been sold yet. I would say that a Chris Tucker cameo is more likely than a Jackie Chan cameo though.
