It seems that Universal is set to take another shot at rebooting Miami Vice. The studio previously brought the 1980s TV series to life as a 2006 feature film directed by Michael Mann, who also exec produced the original show. This comes from a Latino Review affiliate on Twitter, they are usually accurate:
LIL’ TWITTER SCOOP: Universal is rebooting MIAMI VICE & are out to writers for takes. Thoughts?

I am down for this since Michael Mann kinda botched the last movie. I watched again recently and to be honest, it hasn’t aged well or improved since it first appeared. Which is a pity, you’d think Mann could do that better than anyone.
No word yet on whether Mann, who has the hacker film Blackhat coming out soon via Universal, will be involved with the new Miami Vice movie or not.
