“Sniper Elite” Movie In The Works

Jaume Collet-Serra, the director of “Non-Stop” and “Unknown”, is attached to direct the thriller “Sniper Elite” for Sony Pictures and Ombra Films.

The film is based on the second of a trilogy of novels by “American Sniper” co-author Scott McEwen and Thomas Koloniar. The story follows an unofficial team of former Special Forces operatives, let by Navy SEAL Gil Shannon, seeking to stop Chechen terrorists who smuggle a Russian nuke across the Mexican-American border.

Sheldon Turner penned the script while Kevin Misher, Jennifer Klein, Collet-Serra and Juan Sola will produce.  Who doesn’t like a good sniper movie?  It’ll be interesting to see how this one turns out.
