Stapleton Joins EuropaCorp Actioner “The Lake”

Sullivan Stapleton (“300 : Rise of an Empire”, “Cut Snake”) will star in “The Lake,” a Europacorp (“The Transporter”, “Taken”) action-thriller written by seasoned action vet Luc Besson and Richard Wenk (“The Equalizer”).

Steven Quale (“Into the Storm”) directs the pic, which focuses on a group of Navy SEALs attempting to solve a long-forgotten mystery while uncovering an immense treasure hidden in a lake in war-torn Serbia.

If you’re not immediately familiar with who Stapleton is, a good refresher is probably “the guy who got to appear in that sex scene with Eva Green” in the movie 300: Rise of an Empire.  Sounds like this movie has potential but also sounds like another Bulgaria bargain movie potentially.
