It looks like CBS have found their other half for the upcoming “Rush Hour” TV adaptation duo. Justin Hires (“21 Jump Street,” “Key and Peele”) is set to play Carter, the role which Chris Tucker made famous. Hires’ Carter is an irreverent bad-boy detective who uses unorthodox methods to get results. He also has no interest in a partner, but is forced to work with a stoic, by-the-book Hong Kong police detective assigned to a case in Los Angeles.
Hires joins British actor Jon Foo (“Tekken,” “Vikingdom,” “The Protector”) is set for a role in the upcoming “Rush Hour” TV series as the lead detective, one which was made famous by Jackie Chan on the big screen.
Foo’s Lee is a stoic, by-the-book Hong Kong police detective assigned to a case in Los Angeles. He’s soon forced to work with a cocky black LAPD officer who has no interest in a partner. Bill Lawrence and Blake McCormick penned and will executive produce the show. “National Treasure” helmer Jon Turteltaub will direct the pilot and executive produce as well.
Foo is of Chinese and Irish descent and is a trained martial artist who has done stunt work and built a resume as an international action star.
