The Walking Dead Spin Off Gets Two Seasons

Well AMC must be quite pleased with how the pilot turned out as the network is moving forward with its “The Walking Dead” spin-off series.

Like its flagship, the first season will consist of six hour-long episodes. Not only that though because they’ve gone one further, pre-emptively renewing the drama for a second season as well, though the episode count for it has yet to be announced.  Sounds like the universe is about to expand a lot.

The series, which still has yet to score an official title, is said to be a prequel that takes place in Los Angeles at the onset of the zombie outbreak. Cliff Curtis, Kim Dickens, Frank Dillane and Alycia Debnam Carey lead the cast.

The premiere of the first season on AMC is set for late summer, likely airing all of its episodes before the sixth season debuts in October. The spin-off’s second season will debut in 2016.
