Furious 7 Crosses 1 Billion In Less Than A Month

After just seventeen days, “Furious 7” has crossed the $1 billion mark at the global box office, making it the fastest film to ever do so.

It’s also the only Universal Pictures film ever to surpass that mark in its first theatrical run, “Jurassic Park” made over a billion as well but that’s combining its 1993 theatrical and 2013 3D re-release.  Jurassic Park 3D was given a 10/10 on this site by the way, for those trying to shit on our site by claiming we only give positive coverage to R-rated movies.

Concerning Furous 7, NBCUniversal vice chairman Ron Meyer in celebration: “I am incredibly proud of the motion picture team at Universal, the cast and filmmakers of the ‘Fast and Furious’ for all they have done to take our original idea and evolve it into a huge, global, blockbuster franchise.”

“Furious 7” beat out “Avatar,” “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2” and “The Avengers” which all took nineteen days to reach the same mark. At the pace it is proceeding, early estimates have the film closing out its run with around $1.3-1.4 billion which would put it in the Top 5 global box-office hauls of all time.
