Minority Report, the 2002 movie which was originally intended as a sequel to Total Recall, is itself getting a sequel. Not at the movies though, rather the concept will come through TV land.
‘Minority Report’ – keeping the name – is set ten years after the film in which one of the former Precogs teams with a shrewd police detective and attempt to stop the murders that he predicts. Ironically Colin Farrell appeared in the original movie, which as mentioned replaced Total Recall 2, only to then go and appear in the Total Recall reboot, which was terrible by the way.
Based on a story by famed science fiction writer Philip K. Dick, Minority Report the series will be an action-detective thriller set in Washington D.C. in 2064, the movie set in 20154, where police utilize a psychic technology to arrest and convict murderers before they commit their crime.
The 2002 neo-noir movie won critical acclaim and was a box office success. FOX will helm the updated television series.
