Diesel’s Kojak Remake Moves Forward

Vin Diesel continues to keep a busy slate and I don’t think things will slow down with him any time soon.

One upcoming project is a reboot of the Kojak series.  The movie is pushing forward, with playwright Philip Gawthorne hired to write the film, according to Variety.  Neal Purvis and Robert Wade had previously been attached to write the film adaptation of the classic cop show.  The Universal Pictures production follows the same story as the series, with Diesel playing NY Detective Theo Kojak.

Also on the horizon is xXx 3, which Diesel says will shoot in the Philippines: “I am going to do the next xXxwhich will be filming in part in the Philippines, which I’m very, very, very excited about.”  That will probably be followed by Kojak: “Then I will do Kojak for Universal, which is gonna be really exciting.”  Actually, Kojak comes before xXx 3, after Diesel finishes The Last Witch Hunter.
