As “Bourne 5” Films Next Week, Damon Talks Plot

Another Bourne movie is closer than we think as the next entry in the series actually begins filming next week in Europe.  Matt Damon shall return as the lead character.  Story details are tight right now on the new film, but Damon himself has finally spoken briefly about the new film and how it will be very much set in a contemporary time. He tells Buzzfeed:

“Without giving too much of it away, it’s Bourne through an austerity-riddled Europe and in a post-Snowden world. It seems like enough has changed, you know? There are all these kinds of arguments about spying and civil liberties and the nature of democracy.”

This has also impacted the film’s locations it seems as Damon added:

“We’re starting in Greece, you know, the beginning of democracy. And the movie ends in Las Vegas, the most grotesque incarnation of… [laughs]”

Tommy Lee Jones and Alicia Vikander are reportedly joining the cast of the film.  A second “Legacy” movie is also being touted for the series.
