Bookies Peg Hardy As New Bond

After Daniel Craig hinted that he was done with the Bond franchise after Spectre — I guess he didn’t want to pretend that he was in it for the long run for P.R. purposes — speculation continues as to who will replace him as Bond.  The usual names seem to be appearing in the hat.

Variety has spoken with Irish online bookmaker BoyleSports who has taken a poll regarding possible replacements and one name has moved up on the list — Tom Hardy.

Spokesman Liam Glynn says Hardy is now at 4/1 odds of taking over from Craig. That puts him equal second with current Superman Henry Cavill for the part. Cavill was in contention for the role in “Casino Royale” but was beaten by Craig.

I can see Cavill as Bond over Hardy, however neither are particularly interesting.  I think the series needs a GoldenEye-style shake up.
