Sony Considering RoboCop Sequel

If you thought you’d seen the last of girlie-man atrocity RoboCop, the remake variant that is, the terror may not yet be over.  Sony are apparently not aggressively pursuing a sequel, but are asking for people to pitch an idea for one to them.

According to DenofGeek:

As it turns out, it’s not a closed project at Sony, although it doesn’t appear to be one the studio is heavily pursuing. Nonetheless, we understand that it is still welcoming pitches for a further RoboCop venture. Our source confirmed that Sony hasn’t shut the project down, although it doesn’t appear to be a high priority.

The only pitch worth making is for Paul Verhoeven to tackle RoboCop 3, in the same way that Neill Blomkamp is re-doing Alien3.  Old suit, old violence, old satire.
