‘Creed’ Hooks The Box Office With Strong Opening

Rocky spin off ‘Creed’ has appeared to glowing reviews and also, it appears, a strong box office debut too.  Coming off a $36 million budget the movie has pulled in, so far, a $42 million opening for its first weekend.

Keep in mind this is from a five day weekend but I’m sure most will find that number impressive.  The franchise sure does have legs.  I think now we can expect another two movies.  Also note that the movie has been given delayed releases in most territories (good job, studio) so this number is only going to grow.

Speaking with the Associated Press, actor Michael B. Jordan says he’d also be game to return:

“A character so rich as this, and the world he’s in, I want to see what happens to him next and what he does. Especially the way it ends off, it’s pretty cool. I think with success and time and circumstances, it would be exciting to come back and work with (co-stars) Sly (Stallone) and Tessa (Thompson) again.”

Come on man, what about a Clubber Lang cameo?  I know cameos are more often than not cheesy as hell, but why not?
