I’ve been a fan of Ben Affleck the director for a long time now, Gone Baby Gone showed that the guy had skills, The Town confirmed it. So I look forward to ‘Live By Night’, the upcoming crime thriller directed by him. The Wrap are reporting (respectively) that Brendan Gleeson and Anthony Michael Hall have been cast in the adaptation, joining Affleck, Zoe Saldana, Chris Cooper, Scott Eastwood, Sienna Miller, Elle Fanning, Chris Messinaand Max Casella.
Gleeson will play the police captain father of Joe (Affleck) and Danny (Eastwood) Coughlin, while Hall will play a Southern bootlegger who comes into conflict with Affleck’s character.
Synopsis:
By 1926, Prohibition in the United States had given rise to an endless network of underground distilleries, speakeasies, gangsters, and corrupt cops. Joe Coughlin, the youngest son of a prominent Boston police captain, defies his proper upbringing by climbing a ladder of organized crime that takes him from Boston to Ybor City, Florida, to Havana, Cuba, where he encounters a dangerous cast of characters who are all fighting for their piece of the American dream.
