Who the hell isn’t heading to television these days? There are literally countless TV shows in development and many manly TV shows. Legendary auteur John Carpenter is next to get in on the format as he is developing four TV shows with his wife and frequent producer, Sandy King Carpenter.
“Right now, there’s four series waiting to go to network,” the latter revealed during her appearance on the most recent episode of the horror podcast,Killer POV. “As far as I’m concerned, we’ll do all of them. I mean, they’re great, and they’re different from anything that’s out there, and they again push the boundaries of what’s horror. [John] would be directing pilots and we would be executive producing them. There’s sci-fi, there’s horror, there’s one that I guess would be [a] sci fi-horror futuristic kind of thing. They’re all across the board. I think they’ll fulfill what people expect out of him by also being unpredictable.”
Carpenter’s recent big screen work has been scant though, with only two big screen movies in 15 years. I’d also like to see him pull one more big original horror gig.
