It looks like Mel Gibson is being given some due respect down in Australia. You know, there is news coverage about the man and what he’s up to instead of the usual crap you see elsewhere, where every report, article or broadcast is introduced with ‘Mel Gibson recently offended those people… oh, and here’s a new gig he has’.
He is set to present at the 5th AACTA Awards in Sydney next week.
Gibson, who is currently filming World War II film Hacksaw Ridge in NSW, will be joined by Manu Feildel, Magda Szubanski, Megan Gale, Erik Thomson, and Brenton Thwaites.
Emma Freedman will host the show’s red carpet. The ceremony will be broadcast nationally on Channel Seven on December 9 at 8.30pm, with an encore screening on Foxtel Movies Masterpiece channel on December 11 at 10.15pm.
