Looks Like Top Gun 2 Is Still A Thing

We get promised cool sequels every now and again.  But like Beverly Hills Cop 4 we don’t always get them, when Eddie ‘no more shit scripts’ Murphy torpedoed the whole thing.  By the way just to digress further, Beverly Hills Cop 4 was supposed to be set in Detroit amid the worst fictional snowstorm in history.

Anyway the promise of Top Gun 2, another Jerry Bruckheimer deal, seems to be alive still.

Okay.  I’ll buy that for a dollar.  Because Tom Cruise has a cool reputation for disliking shitty fake stuff in his action movies.  So at least we know the film will look somewhat cool, we hope to see some practical stuff in there.  Of course, the usual suspects will come out and accuse the film of being gay again, the same people who insist there are gay undertones in Commando, despite the director emphatically denying it.  Apparently one can’t have a wingman fighting aerial commies without being gay.
