John Woo Joins Ensemble ‘Eight & A Half’

We don’t hear enough about John Woo, who I like to call ‘The Action Surgeon’, he knows how to film real, raw and kinetic action.

He will team up with some of the Orient’s best including Johnnie To, Tsui Hark, Ringo Lam, Anne Hui, Sammo Hung, Yuen Woo-ping and Patrick Tam for the ensemble  ‘Eight & a Half’.  It will be an eight-part anthology film about the history of Hong Kong, which will span from the 1940s until the present.

Ringo Lam spoke of this project on Twitch: I have Eight & a Half, and mainly I was attracted to this project because we are going to pay respect to this film world, so I said, “Okay, I will be happy to do work on this one.” And I already finished the pages, I can shoot any time, but I cannot breathe the contents at this moment. *Laughs* But maybe tomorrow, I’ll change again because there’s no budget.
