Round 1: Rambo 2 Vs. The Terminator

This weekend we are starting a tournament to determine which is the manliest movie of all time. The set up is simple, we put two movies against each other and run a poll for each face off for a week.  I figure a Sunday is a good place to start.  You can see the above tournament outlined, thanks to Anoyster for the artwork by the way!

Now there were some suggestions about how to set this up, including a few more thorough ways to find final entrants.  I was almost going to do something like that, but then got cold feet at the thought at how long it might have taken.  If each poll was to run a week, it probably would have run well into 2017.  In the end, I was kind of keen to avoid a quagmire and avoid the risk of apathy, especially when there may have been easy victors. Plus, there’s a good chance many of these movies would have ended up in the same place.

The movies were suggested by readers of ManlyMovie.  It’s a while since I looked at the suggestions, but taking a look this morning there were over 400 to sort out, from all spectrums.  I then just took the titles that got the most repeated requests, and you can see those above.  So for those wondering ‘What about *insert title*’, well… it simply got outbid.  I took the 16 titles and ran them through the ‘Challonge’ tournament generator.

So the first throw down is… The Terminator versus Rambo: First Blood Part 2.  And already, I personally feel like I can’t pick.
