Scott Eastwood Joins Fast 8

Scott Eastwood has joined the ensemble of “Fast 8,” the next installment in the “Fast and Furious” franchise. Eastwood joins Charlize Theron, who will portray a new antagonist.

The latest installment begins production this summer with a planned April 14, 2017, release. Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Tyrese Gibson and Michelle Rodriguez will reprise their roles, with F. Gary Gray taking over the directing reins. Neil Moritz and Diesel will produce.

Good for Eastwood, since I like the guy.  But man are these movies ever bloated, even for ensembles.  They need to trim it down a bit, I’d dislike for Eastwood to become 2 minute Toretto cameo food.  The suggestion by Vin Diesel that the movie may go back to more grounded racing is welcome though.
