Dunkirk Is Looking Good… So Far

Christopher Nolan continues to film his Dunkirk epic in Northern France.  So far from what can be gleaned from the pictures, he’s on the right track.  Nolan is apparently keen on keeping things practical.  Over one thousand five hundred extras and real aeroplanes.

Even for those who could not be filled out with extras, they’re using cardboard cut outs.  Probably imperceptible to the human eye in the final product, but it’s the thought that counts there. Almost like Nolan has a distaste for CGI.

I’m not Nolan’s biggest fan, but this is the kind of movie we need these days.  Tangible, practical and a piece of modern manly history.
