Even Haters Are Raving About Blood Father – ManlyMovie

Even Haters Are Raving About Blood Father

It looks like we have our first review of Blood Father out of Cannes. The Guardian, a site with authors not known for their fondness of Mel Gibson, has given the movie four stars out of five (I bet that hurt).

Blood Father recalls the thrillers Robert Rodriguez used to make: it’s loud, outrageously violent, unabashedly pulpy, and doesn’t skimp on character development. As the body count escalates, so do the stakes for Link and Lydia.

And, as the picture below shows, the movie enjoyed a standing ovation.  Well, I was kind of expecting this movie to be good, but unfairly treated or mistreated by omission.  But so far, so good.  It looks like Gibson could deliver a one-two blow this year as his other movie, Hacksaw Ridge, is testing through the roof too.
