Farewell, Rush Hour…

CBS has cancelled freshman drama Rush Hour, based on the 1997 movie of the same name.  I cannot speak to the quality of the series, but I’m guessing this means that it wasn’t too great.  I suppose that since Jackie Chan is no longer interested in the series, this spells the end of the property.

The show opened with weak numbers in March, even when considering DVR and online viewership.  In its timeslot it nabbed a 1.2 rating and 6 million in Live+7.

What’s going on with all of these pilots lately anyway?  The Exorcist, Lethal Weapon, Beverly Hills Cop, Limitless (another deathly CBS venture).  Actually CBS seems to be a chief offender here, they sure do like taking stuff from the silver screen and trying to regurgitate it onto the small screen.  They’re also fascinated with Walker: Texas Ranger repeats.  Here’s a full list of upcoming TV adaptations in various hues of development, including The Expendables and The Terminator.
