I’m not sure how popular the reception to this movie is going to be. But in the case of whether or not it’s still even happening, it looks like ‘Big Trouble in Little China’ is still a thing.
In a recent interview with Fandango, Dwayne Johnson made it clear that the movie is still on his plate. “That’s happening, man! That’s happening, that’s happening. And again, that’s one of those things where you gotta take really good care of it,” he explained.
Could be a minefield. The Rock has some balls taking that on, it’s a cult classic and people get cranky if those things are screwed with.
Someone who is not fully on board… yet, is Kurt Russell. Asked whether or not he thinks The Rock could pull it off, Russell says: “You’d have to see it. I don’t know. I don’t know what the movie is. I don’t know what the role is. I don’t know what they’re going after. I have no idea – just like everybody else. I just have to see it and say yeah or nay. There’s no reason not to do it… my wish is that they come up with something that’s better than what we were trying to do.”
It’s nice to see Russell speak his mind instead of coming out with the usual shit and ass kissing.
