Casting Rumors For McTiernan’s New Movie

John McTiernan’s first movie since the ill-fated Rollerball in 2001 will be titled ‘Warbirds’.  The film will supposedly star John Travolta.  New rumours from LatinoMania now also suggest that Johnny Knoxville and Queen Latifah are also attached to the movie.

I hate to be cynical about this, but this is just all-round bad casting.  John Travolta is truly movie poison at the minute and well, the other two…

At one point John McTiernan allegedly rejected Arnold Schwarzenegger for ‘Red Squad’.  I know things like this aren’t straight forward and we’re not even talking about the same movie, but it’s kind of frustrating to know that at one point it could’ve been those two teaming up again and now, supposedly, we’re looking at Johnny Knoxville.

Elsewhere, McT is set to direct a live action trailer for a new Ghost Recon game for Ubisoft.  It actually wouldn’t surprise me if this had a bigger impact on his fortunes than ‘Warbirds’…
