Noomi Returning For Alien: Covenant

I like Noomi Rapace and find her both attractive and fit to appear in the Alien franchise.  I basically had no complaints about her in Prometheus even if on paper you’d probably want a more macho figure in the role, cool woman and like the best heroines, not some butch dog that has something to prove.  That said, the stories about her not returning to the second movie appear to be false.

Deadline‘s sources claim that Noomi Rapace is currently on the Alien: Covenant set in Australia, where she will shoot “weeks worth of scenes” in the sequel.

The story follows the crew of the colony ship Covenant, who are bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy. They discover what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world, whose sole inhabitant is the “synthetic” David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition. Alien: Covenant starts a new prequel trilogy that will bridge the gap in the events between Prometheus and the original Alien.

There is one worry about this movie that I can see.  If it’s successful, Fox may push ahead with a third and further delay (read: cancel) the Aliens sequel.  If it’s a failure, those same execs could say, well, Alien is not a hot property anymore, so it makes no sense to have an Aliens sequel either.

The more positive outlook is that Fox may be trying to go the ‘Universe’ route and milk both movies, which I’m all good for.  Let’s stay positive, Noomi, ready for action!
