McTiernan Shits On Movie Masculinity

John McTiernan has been talking again, another interview with the French.  In the interview McTiernan says some odd things, including sharing his thoughts on ‘Captain America’.

I hate most movies for political reasons, I can not really see them. I’m pissed off the minute it starts. Captain America, without laughing … The cult of American hyper-masculinity is one of the worst things that has happened in the world during the last fifty years. Hundreds of thousands of people died because of this stupid illusion. So how is it possible to watch a movie called Captain America?

Very odd and disappointing words.   Not only has militant feminism been pushed into movies recently more than anything, but McTiernan himself is a big progenitor of modern movie masculinity, we don’t even need to remind why.

McTiernan says in this video that his time in prison altered his political views.
