Michael Shannon Calls For Civil War In America – Where’s The Outrage?

Since Donald Trump won the election recently, entertainment and movie sites have felt that they can cross the line into politics and attack the man and instruct their readers on what kind of political opinion to pursue.  This is also true for actors and entertainers, including the millionaire Michael Shannon.

In an interview with the entertainment editor of Metro.us, the interviewer asks Shannon with respect to the results of the election, ‘how have you been holding up’?  Shannon says; I’m on tenterhooks here. I have two young children. Basically this man is probably going to destroy the earth and civilization as we know it. It’s kind of terrifying.

The interviewer, hired to talk with Shannon about the movie Nocturnal Animals, then brainstorms with the actor about how to ‘bust things up’, since the election didn’t go their way, Shannon agreed and denounced the electorate as ‘assholes’.

That included the interviewers parents, who were Trump voters.  Disown them, ‘fuck them’, says Shannon;

Fuck ’em. You’re an orphan now. Don’t go home. Don’t go home for Thanksgiving or Christmas. Don’t talk to them at all. Silence speaks volumes,’ said the extremist paid entertainer.  When the interviewer also boasted that he was ‘stoked to fight’, Shannon was not to be outdone.   ‘I’m so glad these kids on the campuses everywhere are going ape shit, but at the end of the day the guy’s still going to be president. Maybe you need a civil war or something.’

Now imagine if you will Clinton won and someone like Mel Gibson (I’m not saying Mel is a Trump supporter) came out and ranted about starting an armed insurgency, what do you think would happen?
