Michael Caine, Michael Gambon and Ray Winstone are set to appear in a heist movie.
The film deals with the largest burglary in British history which involved four elderly ex-cons, aged between 58 and 76, where they took in a $300 million from haul London’s jewelry district Hatton Garden during the Easter weekend in 2015.
Referred to as the Diamond Geezers, the big theft took three years planning and four days digging to access the vault of the Hatton Garden Safe Deposit. Ultimately one member got away with $15 million, while the rest were caught and sentenced.
James Marsh will direct while Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner will produce the film which is aiming for a late Spring debut. Joe Penhall writes the script based on Mark Seal’s Vanity Fair piece titled ‘The Over The Hill Mob’.
