It looks like Keanu Reeves is taking back his title of action star that he was kind of developing in the 1990s. Remember, some good titles like Speed (and some not so good ones like Chain Reaction). John Wick is not enough apparently, Reeves wants to do another one called Rally Car.
Reeves will play a former NASCAR racer who gets involved in a high speed trek across China. Here is what LionsGate have said about the movie;
We are thrilled to be in business once again with Keanu Reeves, who is extraordinary in the John Wick franchise, and we believe Rally Car has tremendous potential to see Keanu in action once again, this time behind a steering wheel,” said Jason Constantine, president of acquisitions and co-productions at Lionsgate.
“Jeremy has done a great job with the screenplay featuring a multinational cast of characters and we’re happy to have Olivier directing another great movie for us.”
Alright so here’s the bad news. Olivier Megaton.
I probably shouldn’t need to say much more than that. So this movie has potential, but has a serious uphill battle in front of it because of who is now going to be directing it. I’m guessing it’s going to be a big financial smash anyway, the Chinese will probably see it in droves.
