UPDATED (03/21): Here is the global trailer for this movie, see directly below.
UPDATED (14/3): Just to add some news to this updated ‘Aftermath’ article, we have a new poster for this movie. See below. Expect the first reviews to start rolling in any time now, hopefully from this site as well. Will this be a hit or miss from Arnold?
UPDATED 2X: Well gentlemen, above is the trailer for this movie. What do you think? Arnold looks like he’s putting in some good acting work there.
UPDATED: It looks like we have the release date for this movie. Expect a limited theatrical run on March 31st and a DVD release on the same day. Here’s the synopsis too;
Inspired by real events, AFTERMATH tells a story of guilt and revenge after an air traffic controller’s (Scoot McNairy) error causes the death of a construction foreman’s (Arnold Schwarzenegger) wife and daughter. Following the devastating plane crash, the two strangers’ lives become inextricably bound together.
I’m not sure I understand the wisdom of releasing the movie in the cinema on the same day as the DVD but there you go…
PREVIOUSLY: It might have been a legit concern if some suspected that Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Aftermath (previously titled 478) may have gone the PG-13 route. That doesn’t look to be the case though, thankfully. Filmratings has declared the movie an ‘R’ rated affair.
The movie stars Maggie Grace and is directed by Elliott Lester. It is based on the airline accident that occurred in July of 2002 and on the events that took place 478 days later.
All I can say is that I’d rather have a small, earnest adult Schwarzenegger movie than a bloated family movie that crashes and burns at the box office. Or, even better, a large, violent movie for adults at the box office called The Legend of Conan!
