Stallone Recalls The Superhuman Strength Of Thunderlips

Sylvester Stallone has been looking back at his encounter with Thunderlips/Hulk Hogan, 35 years after Rocky III on Instagram.

‘Believe it or not when [Hulk] jumped into the audience to fight with the stuntmen, three of them had to be treated at the hospital,’ recalled the New York born actor, who also directed the film.

‘He’s an amazing athlete,’ said Stallone of the actor, who played Thunderlips in the Rocky sequel, while also explaining ‘why it’s not such a great idea to always do your own stunts.’

Getting slammed is notoriously harsh for a non-wrestler.  And this is what happened to Stallone in the movie.  In his book, Hulk Hogan talks about hitting Stallone with a running power slam, which resulted in Stallone coughing up blood.

Hogan praised Stallone for the way in which he dealt with it, saying he acted like a ‘trooper’ and did not complain whatsoever.
