Roland Emmerich is is officially set to a movie about the Battle of Midway.
Emmerich touted his plans for this last year, but now he’s officially moving forward with further details coming to light. “Colony” writer/producer Wes Tooke will write.
The battle took place June 4th 1942, six months after Pearl Harbor. Some people say that America’s biggest role in WW2 was D-Day, however it’s arguable that Midway was a bigger victory for them, in the overall strategic picture. It’s probably up there with Kursk as one of the most pivotal ‘writing on the wall’ outcomes for WW2.
Yu Dong, Emmerich, Harald Kloser, Mark Gordon and Matt Jackson will produce. My one concern is fake blue/green screen overkill. Did you see Independence Day: Resurgence, especially the scenes with a boat at sea? Despite the budget, it looked staggeringly fake.
Don’t ruin it with that BS!
