Looks like Nicolas Cage is still with Hannibal Classics. Above is the trailer for the upcoming thriller Vengeance: A Love Story.
The story centres on “the aftermath of a victim of gang rape, left for dead in a park boathouse. The victim is a single mother in her 30s, and the attack is witnessed by her daughter. A policeman who is a Gulf War veteran becomes her unexpected champion” (via Variety).
Cage was originally supposed to join John McTiernan’s Red Squad, or formerly his anyway – I don’t think McTiernan is directing that movie anymore and reps from HC refuse to take questions from me, off record or on, with regards to McT anymore.
I believe when Cage was announced for Red Squad, he may have been doing McTiernan a favour and may never have been able to appear in the movie. McTiernan was trying to convince the courts that his upcoming slate would cover the cost of holding his ranch, Cage ‘signing on’ to Red Squad helped a lot (at the time).
At the 11th hour they admitted Cage was not in the movie before the big Cannes reveal.
