Tom Hardy Rumored For Beverly Hills Cop 4

Beverly Hills Cop 4 keeps dropping in and out of the rumor mill.  Discussion got serious about it a while back when Jerry Bruckheimer vowed to make it his first movie back at Paramount.  There has been little since, apart from recently in Holland.

Directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah appeared on the #1 talk show in Holland called “De wereld draait door” which translates to “The World Turns.” While there, the pair had mentioned they met with Eddie Murphy about handling the new movie.

They also said that the movie will have a $50 million budget and that Tom Hardy and Channing Tatum are two of the main names being discussed to star alongside Murphy as the alternate half of a buddy-cop deal.

The film sees Axel Foley return to Detroit (I can say exclusively that it is, or at least was, thematically set in the ‘worst storm in Detroit’s history’) to butt heads with a hardened cop, played in theory by one of the two names mentioned above.  I’m thinking it’s more likely to be Tatum, but then again Tatum is surprisingly high on Hollywood’s ‘well-paid’ list too.

Previously, Murphy kept refusing scripts presented to him.  Maybe that has changed now.
