Before you click the play button on that video, beware that it features SPOILERS. So does this article.
The fight scene is from The China Salesman (2017), an upcoming action movie featuring Steven Seagal and Mike Tyson. It has already been released in some parts of Asia, but still has no distribution in the west.
I say SPOILERS because, well, it’s a pretty decent fight scene — I know it’s customary to expect the worst from a modern Seagal or (any) Tyson movie. But Seagal loses, getting knocked out even. And if you look closely, this fight was filmed entirely by doubles. Steven Seagal and Mike Tyson were never on set together.
That must be the case. Check the interview with Titus Paar on our site. He said he met Steven just after he had finished the cameo in China Salesman. Steven didn’t even know what the movie was about. He just showed up for that scene.
According to Dida and a discussion on the Steven Seagal forums, Seagal didn’t even know what the movie was about, he just showed up and did his scene. Which leads you to wonder, did Seagal know about the outcome of the fight on screen? It seems that Steven Seagal would not agree to this.
Did Seagal lose this fight… in the editing room? Does he even know he lost the fight on screen?!
