Michael Hirst has launched his own independent production company, Green Pavilion Entertainment, alongside producers Morgan O’Sullivan and James Flynn. And 1998 action/thriller Ronin is on their upcoming slat.
Green Pavilion Entertainment will develop and produce high-end dramas for international and domestic markets and is set to work with both new and established writers and directors. They’ve also struck an exclusive first-look deal with MGM Television.
The John Frankenheimer spy thriller starred Robert De Niro, Jean Reno, Natasha McElhone, Jonathan Pryce and Sean Bean. Sharon Remmer will serve as creative director at Green Pavilion.
The original movie is perhaps best known for its gritty and realistic car chases (read: not gritty and unintelligible, like Paul Greengrass’ work) and… weapons. I like weapons and movies packed full of weapons and where shit gets blown up real good.
