MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE: FALLOUT

Some Superbowl trailers are up.  We start with the new Mission: Impossible film.  Easily the best trailer of recent times.

The new film is expected to deal with the consequences of the disbanding of the Syndicate following the IMF’s capture of Solomon Lane (Sean Harris) as Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) and his team race against time after a mission gone wrong.

It also looks like The Rock is going to do the Die Hard thing, sort of.

Johnson plays former FBI Hostage Rescue Team leader and U.S. war veteran Will Ford, who now assesses security for skyscrapers. On assignment in China he finds the tallest, safest building in the world suddenly ablaze, and he’s been framed for it.

JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM

In June another man vs. beast yarn is coming in the latest Jurassic World sequel.  I don’t know, but this seems to be hugely overcooked (with some powerful IBM processors?).  Notice how differently CGI is applied between this and the M:I trailer.

Four years after the destruction of the Jurassic World theme park, Owen Grady and Claire Dearing return to the island of Isla Nublar to save the remaining dinosaurs from a volcano that’s about to erupt. They soon encounter terrifying new breeds of gigantic dinos while uncovering a conspiracy that threatens the entire planet.
