In the indie drama Cornerman, Bruce Willis will star as Mike Tyson’s boxing trainer Cus D’Amato
Rupert Friend will make his directing debut on the film set in the Catskills region of New York during the early 1980s, where Constantine ‘Cus’ D’Amato (Willis) is a reluctantly retired boxing coach who had trained some of the greatest heavyweight world champions.
While running a small gym, Constantine discovers a then 13-year-old Mike Tyson who has incredible raw talent but is often getting in trouble with his fists.
Producers will begin a worldwide search for the actor who will portray Tyson. Friend also wrote the script and will produce with Aimee Mullins, Marc Butan and Ara Keshishian. Shooting begins this Fall.
