Cena To Replace Rock In Ludlum Thriller

John Cena is set to star as the lead in the film adaptation of Robert Ludlum’s posthumously published 2002 novel The Janson Directive for Universal Pictures.

Previously, Dwayne The Rock Johnson was set to star in the movie.  But The Rock himself announced the replacement.

In the movie, Cena will play an ex-Navy SEAL whose sadistic C.O. in Vietnam turned him over to the enemy. He escaped and returned with evidence of war crimes that caused his CO’s execution.  A long time later, Janson becomes a security consultant whose latest job is rescuing billionaire philanthropist Peter Novak who has been kidnapped by a terrorist.

Cena is also rumored to play Duke Nukem and of course will return in Daddy’s Home 3.
