Anyone who has bought Rocky video games in the past (or played them in arcades) might want to keep an eye on this upcoming release.
Creed: Rise to Glory is going to release on PlayStation VR this fall, as announced by developer Survios on Wednesday. That’s not the only thing: Exclusive to PS VR at launch, players will get the chance to play as a young Rocky Balboa in his prime.
You will take on the role of Adonis Creed as he makes his way from underground amateur fights to the championship spotlight. Survios champions their own “Phantom Melee Technology” to make the combat feel more immersive in VR. In a statement on the PlayStation Blog, Survios community manager Lauren Irvine says:
Whether you choose to live out Creed’s story or set up your own Exhibition battles against a variety of skilled opponents, this makes you feel every punch, uppercut, and flurry through situational desynchronization, including fatigue, staggering, and knockouts.
No word yet on if Apollo Creed, Clubber Lang, Ivan Drago, Viktor Drago etc will be in the game…
