Ethan Hawke Is A Leotard Blasphemer

Few people will say that Logan is not a very good movie.  Much like few will say that most superhero movies are really any good these days.  But Logan especially was exalted as something special, after all, never mind the vapid story like every other Marvel movie of the past ten years, but this time Hugh Jackman was frowning real hard throughout his repetitive CGI road trip, and it was his last outing… therefore it was a masterpiece, fellas.

However actor Ethan Hawke has now outed himself as a heretic.

In an interview with The Film Stage, Ethan Hawke said that he couldn’t believe that a superhero movie was being so revered.

“Now we have the problem that they tell us Logan is a great movie. Well, it’s a great superhero movie. It still involves people in tights with metal coming out of their hands,” the blasphemer continued. “It’s not [Robert] Bresson. It’s not [Ingmar] Bergman. But they talk about it like it is.

“I went to see Logan cause everyone was like, ‘This is a great movie’ and I was like, ‘Really? No, this is a fine superhero movie.’ There’s a difference but big business doesn’t think there’s a difference. Big business wants you to think that this is a great film because they wanna make money off of it.”

I was going to post a string of Twitter butthurt, but there is just too much rage to cover it, I’d be here all day.  It’s always fun to see Marvel movie fanboys criticize awful DC movies, but when the same criticism is directed upon their own movies, which are little more than buffed up episodes of Power Rangers (1993), they blow a gasket.  You see Hawke also committed a double offense; you must not as a famous actor criticize leotard movies, but you must especially must not criticize Marvel’s movies.

It would be like going to Saudi Arabia and calling Allah a wanker.
