Total Recall Scanner To Become Total Reality

The Total Recall body scanner scene is a piece of classic 1990’s manly moviedom.  Forget about it being science fiction though.  It’s coming to a transport hub near you, soon.

Los Angeles’ subway will become the first mass transit system in the U.S. to install body scanners that screen passengers for weapons and explosives, officials said Tuesday.

The machines scan for metallic and non-metallic objects on a person’s body, can detect suspicious items from 30 feet away and have the capability of scanning more than 2,000 passengers per hour.

No word on the implementation of the Verbal Morality Statute, but I’m sure they’re just working out the credit system for words that should not be uttered.
